Why edit diffs matter

Your contact can change numbers, dates, promises, or wording after sending — in a normal chat you only see the new text with no change history.

PIPA keeps both versions and shows what changed: added and removed fragments so you can verify facts without guessing.

What an edit notification looks like

In your chat with @pipa_official_bot you get a message with a before → after block. Markup helps spot changed words or symbols quickly.

The alert arrives right after an edit in a covered chat. Edits from before the bot was connected cannot be recovered.

How this relates to deletions and view-once

Sometimes a contact edits a message and then deletes it. PIPA records both event types independently — the edit and the deletion.

Disappearing media follows separate rules: view-once files are forwarded as media, not as a text diff.

Step by step

  1. Connect the bot to the chats you need

    Via Chat automation or Telegram Business, add @pipa_official_bot and select chats where tracking edits matters.

  2. Wait for a message to be edited

    When your contact changes an already sent message, Telegram updates the text in the chat — PIPA captures the old and new versions in parallel.

  3. Open the diff in your PIPA chat

    Go to @pipa_official_bot — you will find a notification with a character-level before → after comparison.

FAQ

Does Telegram show edit history on its own?

In personal chats Telegram displays only the current text. There is no user-facing edit log — PIPA fills that gap after you connect.

Are media caption edits tracked?

PIPA tracks text message changes within the Telegram Business API. Details for media depend on message type and API support.

Can I see edits from last month?

Only if the bot was connected to the chat before those edits. PIPA does not restore edit history from before connection.
